Newly-switched vapers should adhere to the product manufacturer’s guidelines when trying out a new device.

Users who have recently switched to vaping should equip themselves with the right information before switching to a Super Smooth vape. Getting information from suitable sources can help them decide on the right device and identify the ingredients used in different vape flavors.

Here are 5 of the most asked questions by Filipinos about vaping, answered!

What Do Vape Pods Consist of?

The flavored liquid in vape pods is made using a few key ingredients. These ingredients include:

  • Glycerol
  • Propylene Glycol (PG)
  • Flavoring
  • Nicotine

Glycerol

Glycerol — also known as vegetable glycerin — is a hypoallergenic ingredient commonly used in foods as a sweetener, preservative, and texture enhancer. Glycerol is generally made up of the sugar alcohol from soybeans, or coconut or palm oils, hence why you can taste sweetness when you vape.

In addition, glycerol is an environmentally safe ingredient that is non-toxic in the digestive system. It is also non-irritating to the skin and sensitive membranes. For these reasons, glycerol is an important ingredient in the production of many pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food products.

Propylene glycol (PG)

Propylene glycol (PG) is an additive that the United States Food and Drug Administration has recognized as “safe for use.” An odorless and colorless ingredient, PG possesses unique characteristics that include the ability to absorb excess water and maintain moisture in a wide range of commonly consumed food products.

It is also used as an anti-caking agent, antioxidant, emulsifier, thickener, and a texturizer. Some examples of food products that contain PG include biscuits, cake mixes, ice cream, salad dressings and soda beverages.

Flavoring

Non-oil-based flavoring compounds used in food products can also be used in vape liquids. They provide a distinct taste profile to the different vape flavors.

Nicotine

Nicotine is an ingredient that is added to flavored liquids to help newly-switched vapers manage their cravings effectively. It also is capable of releasing dopamine into your system momentarily.

It should be noted that nicotine-free vape pods are also available. In that regard, it is totally up to the newly-switched vapers if they wish to use vape pods that contain nicotine or not.

How Long Do Vape Liquids Last?

Vape pods have a shelf life of approximately 18 months (about 1 and a half years) if unopened and stored correctly but are meant to be used soon after purchase.

That being said, once a vape pod has been opened, it is advised to finish a vape pod within 15 days to maintain optimum product quality.

To find the exact shelf life of vape pods, you can refer to the product manufacture and expiry date information on the top left corner of a vape pod packaging box.

How Can You Make Vape Liquids Last Longer?

Heat exposure can alter the molecular behavior of vape liquids and cause decay or a change in taste. As such, you should store vape pods in a cabinet or drawer at room temperature.

Interestingly, another effective trick to preserve the freshness and quality of vape liquids is to store vape pods in the freezer. Freezing vape liquids can help prevent oxidation, which is one of the primary causes of product decay.

PRO TIPS: Store vape pods in a cool, dry place like a drawer or traveling pouch. Avoid putting it next to sharp objects. Fully charge your device before vaping to ensure proper e-liquid heating.

What Are the Recommended Flavors for Newly-Switched Vapers?

Newly switched vapers would usually opt for flavors with a sugary taste profile, as these are more appealing and familiar than the stronger flavor options.

These include beverage, dessert or fruit-based vape flavors. According to the findings of a survey from a Facebook group called RELX Users Philippines, RELX Dark Sparkle, Fresh Red, Garden’s Heart, Sunny Sparkle and Tangy Purple were found to be the preferred flavors among Filipino vapers.

Alternatively, RELX Rich Tobacco — the eighth-most favorite choice amongst Filipino vapers — and RELX Menthol Xtra can be considered by anyone planning to switch to the World’s Super Smooth Vape.

How Many Puffs Does My Vape Pod Provide?

There are no ‘one-size fits all’ recommendation as to how many vape hits you should take in a day. What can be said, however, is that you should always vape in moderation and at your own pace.

It is also important to adhere to a vape manufacturer’s usage guidelines when vaping. For instance, vape mods with a built-in Smart Pace Vibration Alert feature will vibrate when you charge it, plug in a new pod, or take 15 puffs within a 15-minute window. RELX Pod Pro provides up to 500 puffs per pod, so pace yourself.

The competitively priced RELX Pod Pro, which comes in a variety of flavors, is ideally suited to newly-switched vapers and those who intend to switch to a Super Smooth vape. For more vape-related information or to discover RELX’s entire range of products, visit RELX’s website today.
